从广州港自古以来的丝绸之路文化中提取出丝带的文化元素，抽象出横穿地块的水系将散落在基地内的建筑联系起来，运用现代的建筑材料将立面细节塑造出凹凸有致的立体感，融入适宜的造型手法，形成淡雅大气的外观效果，建筑细部则注重建筑形态的统一性和怡人的尺度关系，用新型材对建筑元素进行全新的诠释，使城市文化与建筑相融合。

建筑平面根据不同功能特点采用不同构成基底，同时各建筑单体根据面积及功能需要形成不同规模的体量，南北两侧群体性建筑均向中央湿地公园逐层退进，形成空间向心力，增强内聚感，同时为建筑提供良好的观景露台。
